delart Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Hi my 2003 hdi exclusive has two heater problems the fan is on full all the time, and the passenger side heat controller sometimes (most) won't turn the heat off? Any help appreciated. Quote
paul.h Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 These are common problems and are usually the fan speed control resistor pack fails so it only does the one speed and the other can be the motor or its fitting on the shaft of the warm air flap has failed. Replacing the motor is not too difficult but if it is the fitting it is more involved - have a look at this post http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21119-c5-2002-aircon/ Quote
delart Posted April 12, 2014 Author Posted April 12, 2014 Thanks what price we talking for the resister pack also what happens to the fan if you remove it does it just go off? Quote
coastline taxis Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Anywhere from 38 to 105. our 54 exclusive with the dual climate controls (like yours) was £105. if you take it off then you get no blower at all Quote
delart Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks coastline, do you use Citroen's exclusively? Might take it out and see if I can solder in some new resisters. Quote
coastline taxis Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Theres one on ebay for £20 well worth it. And yes we mostly use citrien Quote
delart Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Hi have not had chance to look at this yet,but now the weather is better I thought I'd leave them both on 16 but even when not moved the passenger side still puts out hot air. So I still have to turn it up and back down in the hope it will cool down and so far it has. What I don't understand is how the temperature goes up if the knob isn't moved? Quote
