Hi. I, too, am new to the forum and am the relatively content owner of a 2012 C4 HDi 1.6 exclusive in glorious Babylon Red. It's my 6th Citroen, but likely to be the last ......

Has anyone come across the following fault? Slowing almost to a halt in Auto mode at, say, traffic lights, and then moving away in second gear at low speed, but, as the torque comes up, the car changes down to 1 with a jerk and then moves off jerkily? It feels as though the engine is misfiring badly. The only 'cure' is to stop completely and then move off, when all becomes sweetness and light. Can be a bit un-nerving when in a stream of traffic, all of whose drivers are impatient to get to work!

Also, is it possible to retro-fit electrically-adjustable front seats? Citroen say 'no!' (this in spite of the fact that the LHD version of the same model comes with it as standard)

Welcome to the forum.

Never had an auto so I cannot comment on the gears but if you are dropping below about 1000 rpm then maybe you should be in first gear anyway. Whilst you may get away with this in a petrol, diesels seem to like slightly higher revs at slow speed. Whilst the car is still under warranty I would take it back to the dealer for a check and if they say they are all like this see if there is one there to try out.

On the C5 electric seats can be retrofitted since the wiring is already there and it just needs the fuses fitting. You may need to see if this is the same with the C4 - have a look under the carpets near one of the seats for a connector.

I have moved your post to a subforum since ones outside do not show after a few days and are then difficult to find.

See if there are any more responses but I would be visiting the dealer, if it is nothing mechanical then maybe there is a software update. We had one in October 2013 on our 2011 C4 manual which cured the time/date resetting.  It also made some changes to the door locking. I do not know how long you have owned the car but has the auto gearchange always been the same ?

I had a look in a sales brochure for the C5  and in the English version the only mention of electric seats is for electric lumbar adjustment and massage. I could not find a different language version to see what a left hand drive car has.
