Hi,

I recently purchased a 2008 C5 SX. Really pleased with the car so far (yes I was aware of what sort of mpg I would be getting before I purchased her! Lol!) but can't help wishing I had a couple of the optional extras in the higher spec models.

Are there any upgrades I can easily/relatively cheaply add to my SX? Ideally A working Bluetooth/mobile connection would be great and the ability to connect an MP3 player? Are there any others anyone has done/would recommend?

I know ideally I would have just bought a higher spec model but this car was the best option for me.

Thanks

Cant help you in the sounds department, but if you haven't got them rear parking sensors are a very easy addition.     So far I've had two kits from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251244495581?var=550220752869&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 for fitting to some of my family fleet. All that's required is to drill the bumper, pass the sensor wires through a grommet into the boot area, then pick up the power supply from the reverse light wiring.

Hi johndouglas,

Thanks for your quick response. My car seems to actually have parking sensors installed which is what got me thinking about this.

I have a bit of an issue with these sensors and I see you have replied to that post too (http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21449-crazy-parking-sensors/). Thank you.

Is it easy to upgrade my head unit so I can connect my phone/mp3 player? Is it just the garage reprogramming/updating software and installing a Bluetooth unit/3.5mm jack? Or do I need a new head unit?

Is it possible to swap out the entire centre console for the sat nav/dual climate control unit if you could pick one up from a breakers? Has anyone done this?

Cheers

I am not sure about these but here goes:

- the sat nav unit would need to be programmed to your car since Citroen radios are linked to the original car, you would need the sat nav aerial/cables which are part of the radio aerial on the car. There may also be some other bits needed.

- the dual climate control would need at least the air distribution part of the air con unit with the separate flaps and motors as well as the controller. Probably some other bits would be needed. I have dual air con and usually have both sides at the same settings so from my experience it is not necessary.
