john h Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Noticed on gentle acceleration that there is a slight flat spot where the car seems to be holding back, 1.6 hdi, its nothing alarming just a bit of hesitation, do you think a can of injector cleaner may help ? Quote
john h Posted July 22, 2014 Author Posted July 22, 2014 (edited) My flat spot is better described as turbo lag, I have to reach aprox 1800 rpm before the turbo boosts the engine, it makes pulling away a very sluggish affair until the magic number is reached, is this normal for a 1.6 hdi c4, its just had the EGR replaced but it has made no difference with the delay Edited July 22, 2014 by john h Quote
markm23 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Hi, don't suppose you ever got to the bottom of this problem did you? Mines started doing the same thing......Thanks Quote
john h Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Actually now got used to it & don't notice if I change how I juggle clutch and gears, having said that if it has just started doing it on yours its possible there is a fault Quote
paul.h Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Possibly the car has adapted to your driving style. You could try a battery disconnection or thrashing it for a few days to see if it adapts to a different style. I sometimes notice a car seems to accelerate a bit quicker after a service, so maybe the garage does something. Servicing possibilites could include the fuel filter needing replacing on a diesel or the air filter needing replacing. Quote
john h Posted November 29, 2014 Author Posted November 29, 2014 To be quite honest as long as it starts and runs with a good mpg figure its good enough, a lot of Citroens out there wont do any of this Quote
