AliPru Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 My new-to-me C3 is quite growly (or should I say throaty?) when accelerating. Sometimes I can feel a vibration coming through the driver's seat at the same time. Is this normal or have I got a problem? Ali Quote
paul.h Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 As a reminder, the car is a 2003 1.4 petrol Desire model. This does not sound right. Possibly it has a replacement pattern exhaust or the one on it has a leak or maybe there is another problem. I replaced the exhaust on our 2003 1.4 petrol with one from Eurocarparts, Klarius make, and that resonated on tickover and about 2500 rpm. It did not improve with time either. Another member also had a similar problem with a pattern exhaust on a diesel. But the Klarius one was about £100 vs the Citroen one at about £300, however, it spoilt the car. As well as the exhaust, you could check the engine air inlet ducting for the noise with the bonnet up and revving the engine, there may be an air leak or the air filter may have a problem. Also check the engine mountings in case one is causing the vibration. Quote
john h Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I had this on a second hand 2009 C3 Picasso diesel, never did find out why, however it put me off the car, got shut Quote
