delart Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Hi what are you suppose to do when this flashes up? Quote
paul.h Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 It will be somewhere in the handbook and in the one for our 2011 C4 under the Monitoring section, particle emissions filter, risk of blockage, it has - As soon as driving conditions allow, regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h) until the warning lamp goes off. So maybe a 20 mile motorway trip is needed or possibly 20 minutes at high revs in a low gear. If you were not planning on doing these it makes a mockery of the fuel economy and for a car that is used for short trips then a petrol is probably better than a diesel with a dpf. Quote
delart Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Hi thanks for answer, warning only flashes up then goes off at this stage,? I do try and give it a bit of a Italian tune up after the warning. Are DPF's fitted to all modern diesel's now? Quote
Johndouglas Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 . Are DPF's fitted to all modern diesel's now? Yes - they all have them because they are necessary to meet the present emission targets. And because the targets are likely to be even lower in the future, the filters and the filter systems will become even more sophisticated. Maybe our love affair with diesel is coming to an end. Quote
