Peetee Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Hi, new member Philip introducing self. Am about to pick up a c5 3.0 tourer. Long time since I've owned a car as London living means I don't really need one day to day. Have this strictly for hols and motorway trips to family all about the country. Quite excited about the hoped-for refinement and power. Any thoughts about what to expect? Thanks Quote
paul.h Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Welcome to the forum. You can read/print/save a copy of the handbook until you get yours on the service.citroen site, select your language, handbook pack and then your car http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp Most people seem happy with their C5s, although forums tend to be full of people's problems and on the C5 Technical Section there is a pinned post with Common Problems although most are for the earlier models. Gregorius Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hello Philip, I've bought a 1.6 2011 tourer just now so wishing the two of us lots of good motoring. I do all my own servicing and have replaced pretty much all the servicables.my main gripe is No Coffee Cup Holder! Terrible!regs,G. Quote
Johndouglas Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 my main gripe is No Coffee Cup Holder! Terrible! Don't you have that useless one in the centre box. Open the lid and there may be a flip up cup holder at the rear of the box. Quote
paul.h Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Gregorius, when you do the oil/filter changes on your 1.6 hdi, make sure you use the correct oil recomended by Citroen in the Maintenance and Warranty handbook. It is probably Total INEO ECS 5w-30 and can be bought from a Citroen dealer for about £40 for 5 litres or for a bit less over the internet. I would also get the oil filter from Citroen and the drain plug washer since they cost very little there. Quote
