spitfire9 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Hello all My 2000 Xsara has a funny problem. Can't cancel the indicators. When I return the indicator stalk to the centre, it does not stop the indicators (right indicators keep going). I don't see how to remove the binnacle. There are 4 or more metal fasteners under the steering column that look like rivets rather than allen screws and there are 2 deep recesses with some kind of fastener in them but even using a torch I can't see what they are (bolts? Phillips screws? something that undoe with an Allen key?) Could anyone tell me how I can expose the business end of the indicator stalk, please? I've looked in Haynes manuals for ZX and Xantia and it is not covered and there are no exploded diagrams. Quote
coastline taxis Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 inside the 2 deep recesses there are 2 torx screws (t25 i think) undo them and the bottom half of the cover will come away. lower the steering colum and the top half will just lift of. youd probally be better off just replacing the whole comm unit as stripping them down is hard a complicated Quote
spitfire9 Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 Thanks very much for your answer. Just to check, do you mean allen key screws? I'm not sure what t25 is. Is it 2.5mm? Quote
paul.h Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 T25 is a torx bit size 25. http://www.orbitalfasteners.co.uk/en/products/torx-25-t25-screwdriver-bit-t25?utm_medium=google_shopping&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=google_shopping&gclid=CM7HrZmFusICFUWWtAodYFUATQ Quote
