sifaan Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 HiI'm trying to get down some Lds from UK and just wanted to check if it's legal and safe to put it in checked luggage? I don't think it will explode/leak in the hold because it's not pressurised. And since it's not corrosive I think it should be legal as well Thanks Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 What you say sounds reasonable however, I have a couple of 1ltr cans of LDS and since I don't use it now, I was going to put it on ebay. But then I discovered that none of my usual carriers would collect and deliver it. Quote
paul.h Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Assuming you are thinking of flying. If you are thinking of putting it in a suitcase then you would need to somehow ensure it stayed upright and was not thrown around to help prevent it leaking which I would imagine an airline would not want. There is a limit on liquid amounts allowed in the cabin and then I think it has to be water so it could not be hand carried. There will also be things like material safety data sheets to include. There is one here but you may need one from the actual manufacturer http://www.wolfoil.com/assets/MSDS/msds_5090_neutraal_en_20120814.pdf Have you tried to simply order it from a UK supplier to see if they can send and then it will give you an idea if it is possible. On another topic - did you sort out your air bag problem ? Quote
sifaan Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 The Lds was bought off eBay, so presumably Royal Mail or similar service delivered it. Lds in Sri lanka costs about 15 gbp/l and is hand carried from Singapore by people who do such shopping trips. Anyway, security out of Heathrow might be more strict, so I'll get it sent by sea (wife is on a visit there; would anyway need to send some other stuff by sea freight) On the airbag, didn't get it fixed. For now have disabled it via diagbox to keep the error out of the way :S Quote

I thought the limits were on the quantity that could be taken through the security gate. No amount of water may be taken through. However, liquids bought in the 'air-side' shops are all allowed on board. Quote
paul.h Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 It is a few years since I last flew anywhere so you are probably right. Quote
