paul.h Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Welcome to the forum. Did the car work normally before and what happened/occurred last time the car worked such as was it jump started or used to start another car ? You could try a battery disconnection/reconnection since this sometimes helps with electrical problems, failing that I think you may be best to visit a Citroen dealer. The following is copied from the Technical section Common Problems pinned topic: 20. Odd electrical problems caused by wrong battery disconnection procedure. If you need to disconnect the battery and not do a BSI reset procedure, I have found the following has not given me any problems on a 2004 and 2007 C5 and a 2003 C3:- remove the ignition key from the car- open the bonnet- wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down- disconnect the battery negative terminal When reconnecting- ignition key out of the car- reconnect the battery- wait a few minutes- insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute- turn the key to the first position and wait a minute- turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute- start the engine- take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch- reset the clock (and radio on the C3). coastline taxis Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 u cant just download the software. As paul has asked what caused the problem in the 1st place. Also are you saying you have 5 keys for the car. i think people might be having a bit trouble making sense of your posting so why not start again and include the following have u owned the car long/ or just bought it.was it previosly runningwhat year is it.are other systems working ok.what warning lights are you getting.does your key fob remotely lock/unlock the carAny other info relating to the car Quote
Porsche430 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Disconnecting a battery at the "wrong" time has the potential to corrupt ECU data. Have I ever actually seen this happen on any vehicle? No. But they say it can! Quote
looneytunes Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 i did take the battery off to recharge it as it had been standing for a while then i reconnected it once it was charged by putting the negative lead on first then the positive lead then tried to start it also i only have 2 keys for the car cheers Quote
