Cant help you with the first question but Yes to the second one. My daughters new C4 came without a spare wheel so I bought a new steel rim and sourced a good part-worn tyre. Having removed the tin of sealant, the new wheel fitted comfortably in the well.

If your car is being ordered new, you should be able to have a spare wheel supplied including the jack/wheel nut brace/wheel bolt cap removal tool/jack box as an option for £75 according to the Citroen price list. Otherwise it will likely be supplied with an electric pump and tube of sealant in a foam plastic moulding that sits in the wheel well.

A full size steel wheel fits in our 2011 C4 wheel well. Its original tyres are Michelin Energy Saver S1 205/55 R16 91V but the dealer supplied spare is a budget 195/55 R16 87V which we were assured was right. In 2012 the wheel, jack, etc cost £207 (wheel/tyre £65/78 - which is more than a Michelin now).

You could look on the parts diagrams on the service.citroen site to get the wheel and tyre sizes for the model/engine you are considering. It will probably be under mechanical/transmission/wheels and tyres.

A further thought. The C5 tyres are 215/55 R16, you may be able to use a spare from one of your C5s and the C5 jack is better/stronger/easier to use than the one for the C4 so I would also put that and its box, wheel brace in the C4. You would just need to buy the yellow plastic wheel bolt cap removal tool (676305) from the dealer approx £3. The wheel bolts on our C4 are the Citroen standard 17mm AF.

In the 2012 Citroen parts diagrams for the 16, 17 and 18 inch wheels, it gives the space saver wheel as 3.50 J16 4-10 and Continental CST 17 tyre size 135/90 R16 102M up to RPO 12418, then 125/85 R16 99M or 135/90 R16 102M if 3+2 door coupe and 17 inch tyre. However, if you check on-line these sizes could have changed.
