Hi I'm new to this group, I have a Citroen c5 2l HDI 110 52-reg. it would not start the other morning, so looked in Haynes manual and it suggested possible glow plugs or glow plug relay, so changed both and still not working, so looked at fuel pump in tank which was not working, so replaced that and worked brilliant for about 20 miles then cut out as if I had run out of fuel ( which I hadn't), I got towed back home and car started but Anti Pollution fault showing and gone into limp mode, looked at fuse box and one of the wires on gray multi plug looks damaged (burnt) so bridged a wire from damaged one to spare hole next to it and started ok and runs ok but engine runs on a bit when turned off. Could it be the fuse box or pump relay ? Or something else ?

Welcome to the forum.

I am not sure I can help much but have the anti pollution fault/engine light and limp mode now cleared - if not you will need to use a code reader to find the fault and delete the fault code since anything else would just be a guess and trying to replace parts hoping to find the right one can be expensive. Except in really cold weather, the glow plugs are not used much so may not have prevented starting.

Hi update on car so far had a fault code reader on it and it come up with a few codes P1537, P0401,P0101,P1112,P1138, So 1 of the fault was the Mass Air Flow Meter, and another was the Fuel Pressure Regulater, so changed both of these and car running ok for a few days but now starting to run on again and anti pollution fault come back and gone back in limp mode. Please could anyone help.

P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected

P1112 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent Low Voltage

P1138 Lack Of HO2S12 Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich

The above are your original codes from the Petrol Diesel LPG Injection section on here. What code reader did you use ?

You should read the codes again since replacing the flow meter should have got rid of P0101 and P1112 unless there is a fault with the new meter (or possibly it is not a Citroen part). I am not sure but P1138 may be an exhaust lambda sensor which may also have cleared with the new meter - however a search suggests a fuel pressure regulator fault and if so the new regulator should have fixed this unless it is a wiring problem.

Sorry for delay getting back on here but had no internet 😢. But yes it was 3rd wire on middle plug, have you heard of this problem before (coastline taxis) ? Since last post I have changed fuel filter checked all diesel pipes all ok, but also disconnected battery for 30mins and done a reset and everything cleared and running ok and has been for a few days now but still waiting for something to go wrong.
