Looking for some help please?

The tailgate glass on my 2002 C5 Estate doesn't open, hasn't done for some time according to the previous owner. Having looked on here I found the repair involving soldering a wire to replace the track. I checked the switch with my meter and it was working, so I duly soldered in the replacement wire. The glass still doesn't open. Checked the earth tag by the switch, and that was all good. I then checked continuity from the plug on the solenoid back to the switch. There is a green/yellow wire on the solenoid, alongside a white one. The green/yellow wire has continuity right back up to the switch. Now I'm guessing that the system uses a switched earth and this is it. I'm further guessing that the white wire should be 12v live, but I'm getting nothing on it. I've put 12v to the solenoid and the glass pops lovely. Could I pick up a 12v feed elsewhere for the solenoid does anyone know?

Thanks

Thanks Paul, I had a quick look there, but it didn't seem too easy to see as it's all taped up in a loom most of the way through the rubber sleeving. Of course it doesn't help that nearly all the wires running in are white so I don't know which one needs checking. I've got some time today so I'll go and have a another look.

Thanks Coastline, I didn't know that. I had a look again earlier and managed to get at the wiring where it comes in. It has been repaired before but one of them had broken again. Re-soldered it but still no luck.

I've just about given up with it, but I'll maybe have another go next week and see if I can trace the cable by it's number.
