JSC Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Hi every one. I've just joined the group. I've owned C5s for 15 years and just ordered a new C5 Exclusive, I discovered Citroen have revised the model specification on the 1st of May. I know about the new Euro6 engine, but does anybody have any inside knowledge of what changes Citroen have made. The main agents are either unclear or not saying. John Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I think one of the main changes between the latest C5 and the older models is that the diesel additive has changed. The old models used Eolys fluid which needed to be replenished every 90 to 100 thou miles, whereas the new models use Adblue which needs to be replenished much more frequently. Quote
paul.h Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 You can look at the sales brochures to see what the latest models include compared to the older ones. These can be found on Citroen's main site and a copy saved but the latest C5 one is dated September 2014 and only has euro 5 engines listed. You can also look at the handbooks on the service.citroen site for all the 2008 on models of C5. You may find the newer models have less standard features than previously. Quote
JSC Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 Many thanks for the replies. I spoke to the main agents again, and they are still in the dark about the revision. The new C5 brochure was supposed to be out mid May, well that didn't happen. However, they were able to provide details and performance figures of the new Euro 6 engine, and I learnt there is a new touch screen sat nav/radio, replacing the eMyDrive. I think this is the one in the DS5. Rumours about Citroen stopping the Hydractive suspension continue, but it will be installed on the C5 exclusive. The Price and Options booklet has been updated however, and this does show the Euro 6 engine as standard. It will all become clear at some point in the future!! Quote
