Hello

I am new to the Citroen forum and have just bought a xsara 2.0 HDI Turbo hatchback the heater is blowing constantly I have read through some of the feedback on here and it could be one of two things.

The blower fan and resistor unit or the heater control unit? I have managed to source both parts the blower and resistor unit under the passenger foot-well the person who I am buying the parts off has sent photos to make sure they are the correct parts but im not sure that the heater control unit that is mentioned on these forums as being underneath the drivers footwell is the correct part he has shown me can anyone point me to where about this part will be under the drivers footwell?or can anyone provide a photo of what it looks like the blower unit is easy to find I just want to make sure I get the control unit correct. :D

thanks for any help provided.

I did the same job on my daughter's Xsara a couple of years ago. I replaced the resistor pack and the motor performed as it should for a couple of weeks but then it stopped working altogether. I finally replaced the complete motor. ECP for about £85. Here's a piccy I took if it helps at all.

The blower and resistor pack controller are different for cars with and without air conditioning and also if left hand drive. For RHD:

- With air con the resistor pack control module that goes on the blower is Citroen part no. 644178, the blower 6441N4 - these look like the parts in John's photo.

- Without air con the resistor pack is 6450EL, looks circular and goes in the ducting to the left of the blower, the blower is 6441J7.

If you search ebay with these part nos. you can find photos of them and see if they match what is being supplied.
