C5exclusiv Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Hi, I just bought a c5 hydra 3, and I realised that's something wrong with suspension. If I drive it in the position above the normal,in lower speed, the car it's jumping very annoying. Actually you can't drive it...does anyone know what's the problem with it? Thanks a lot Quote
paul.h Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Welcome to the forum. What year is the car ? Possibly the height sensors are sticking. You could try taking the car up and down a few times using the button next to the handbrake to see if this helps. If not raise the car to max height, use axle stands to support it and then have a look at the sensors which are on the front and rear anti roll bars and try something like wd40 on them. Remove the axle stands and then try taking the car up and down again. Do not go under the car without axle stands since if a height sensor is knocked the car could quickly drop to a low height. Quote
C5exclusiv Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Many thanks for your reply! Car is 2008. I'll try this today. I just found out how to check the hydraulic oil level and I need to complete some. Under the suspension fluid reservoir is the hydraulic pump? Cose I saw some oil leak! Thank again for your help !! C5exclusiv Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 If is not gas in spheres what could happen? Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Before you do anything else I would get the level of the LDS correct. Quote
C5exclusiv Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 I made the level of the lds,but I've noticed that the pump is leaking. Does anyone know if it's a common problem that, and it's wrong,? Cheers Quote
C5exclusiv Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Does anyone know if I take off the hydraulic oil reservoir? Quote
paul.h Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Is it the pump or tank that is leaking since the tank plastic can split ? Quote
C5exclusiv Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Problem solved!! I took off the tank and on that back side I found a split on it.I fix it and now it's like new!!Now I need to fix all the pipes back and refill the system. It's there any procedure for that? Thanks a lot Quote
paul.h Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 If you did not get air in the pump it is probably a case of add lds fluid in the tank to the correct level (between the first and second ridges up from the bottom of the filler strainer), fit the tank cap and then take the car up and down on the suspension and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. Then lower the suspension to low and then check the lds level again. If air got in to the pump and the suspension does not rise then a pressure of 0.5 bar is supposed to be applied to the tank after filling it, but sometimes if just left overnight it will work ok the next day. The tank is normally under pressure so if the tank was just repaired it could split again, so you may want to get a new one for future use. A new one is £38 or £53 depending on the car VIN from citroencarparts.net Quote
C5exclusiv Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Thanks a lot Paul. Real help, mate.hope will not split again. But I'll ask Citroën how much is a new one. I already booked a suspension revision on 21st. Something looks to be wrong with it. The spheres or the shock absorbers... Cose when I passed a bump the back it's going down to fast..it's not soft at all like it supposed to be.. Quote
C5exclusiv Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Hi,Paul.have u got any idea were I can find new shock absorbers for hydractive suspension? I searched every sit and all I found was shock absorbers for normal suspension. Thanks a lot Quote
paul.h Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 You will probably need to use a Citroen dealer but you could also try GSF and eurocarparts. Quote
