Newbee Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Hi guys, I have just bought a Yreg berlingo from my father, as you would expect it has low milage and came at a good price so, happy there.my question is about the wipers, they make a terrible noise during each wipe unless its heavy rain, any ideas? And the rubber seals that are fixed to the body of the car in the door openings, front, have started to come undone how do I go about fixing them back. This cars a van, rools a bit on corners, seats are abit uncomfy does any body know of any seat applications that can be used to inprove this? Any replies appreciated, regards. Quote
kfk Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Easiest thing to do is go to your citoen dealer and buy some new seals. The new ones come complete with the double sided tape ready to apply. The important bit is making the new tape stick to body work, so make sure you clean any polish of (yup even vans get polished ). As for seats, you might find a berlingo multispace in the breakers yard thats worth having the seats out of. Quote
moon_monkie Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 look on ebay for new wipers (they only last about a year before they get noisy again) but you can get a decent set of Bosch ones pretty cheap from various suppliers... Quote
Terry1100 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 It's an interesting contrast between us and mainland Europe. Over there, replacing wiper blades annually seems to be the norm. We in the UK generally (and I include myself in this category) wait until they show obvious degradation (or fail an MOT). Quote
Alec Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 But remember if you go to France and buy some bargain wiperblades from the hypermarket for you Berlingo the spoiler will be on the wrong side of the wiper as they are for L/H drive cars. Quote

I tried that but they are still a mirror image of the ones I took off. And the spoiler is now on the top of the drivers side wiper. I'll have another look though. Quote
DickieG Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Do you need a wiper with a spoiler on a Lingo? Both of the Lingos I bought new came without them, presumably due to the shape/windflow over the screen. To get a 'LHD wiper' to fit (is there really such a thing ;) ) you also need to turn the wiper over i.e. spoiler at the bottom then fit the clip :P . Quote
iannez Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 remove the plastic clip and look at the wiper its the same as any wiper anywhere. the way you fit the clip decides which way round the wiper goes. if its a citroen wiper the black dot faces up so the sun can activate it and if it has a spoiler fitted then that faces down. as i said remove the clip hold the wiper against the screen and you will see how it needs to be fitted. Oxymoron Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Hi,I replaced my wiper blades at 2 years old with Bosch ones from Halfrauds.Although they look identical to the original Citroen Bosch blades, they do seem to be of an inferior quality!....The rear wiper arm is easy to break when changing the rear blade too!I've recently covered the front, side and rear screens with RainX and so over about 50mph, the water beads and just runs up the screen, with only an occasional flick wipe needed, even in fairly heavy rain! :D Cheerz. :P Quote
tronboy Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Yeah... Rain-X is the shiznit.... but you have to remember to reapply often! Quote
