PaulSTR Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Can anyone help I have been getting issues, I have a C5 2.2 diesel 2009 and it started with the odd time when the handbrake warning light came on, you take the key out and start again and all is fine. This then moved onto after filling up the anti pollution light came on and it went into limp mode it did this twice, all was well for about 3 weeks then last week the anti pollution light came on then an ABS warning then a hand brake warning then no power steering. It was suggested it was low voltage the battery was tested twice and all has been found to be OK.Nothing for a week then today on start up the hand brake light drove home stopped and restarted and then the antipollution light and limp mode again. Johndouglas Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 It could still be battery voltage. Even before you use the starter the battery has had to power the suspension pump and C5s seem very susceptible to low voltage. My previous C5, after standing for two or three days would sometimes start without any power steering. Allow the engine to put a bit into the battery, then restart and all was well. Quote
paul.h Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Here is an example of odd things on a 2008 C5 2.2 hdi being sorted by fitting a new battery http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/22535-2008-22-hdi-gremlins/ and at 6 years old your battery will be due for replacement. If not the battery you need to get the fault codes read from when the engine management light and anti pollution message came on. Quote
PaulSTR Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 I am looking for help again just purchased a higher powered battery and the warning lights are still coming on my C5 2009 2.2 diesel any idea where I can go next with this it has been happening more often over the past few days put a new battery on today and it happened again twice. The error message is Electronic hand brake when first putting the key in the ignition, when driving it can range between anti pollution system, ABS or power steering. It is solved by turning off taking the key out and back on again but that does not help when you are in traffic and the car shits down altogether. paul.h Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Looks as if the fault codes will need reading before doing anything else. Quote
