Shane Peet Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Hi, our 2008 red tourer over time has developed quite a few scratches and today someone has decided to scratch all the way down the side of the car. What would you say is the best T Cut for citroen c5's? Quote
paul.h Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 If the paint has a laquer top layer then T cut is no use on it since it will just remove the laquer. If the scratch has gone through the colour layer to the primer then it will need repainting or you could use a touch up pen along the scratch but you are unlikely to get a good result although it will help to hide the scratch. You may be best to visit a body shop and see what is recommended. Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 A few weeks ago I was dismayed to find that someone had raked something alongside my car starting from the headlamp down to the rear light. It was obvious that it was vindictively done rather than accidental since the scratch dropped down to go below the mirrors and door handles. It looked an expensive job to put right, however I used some T-cut (Carplan) on it, then some metallic car polish, and after a lot of work, I was satisfied with the result. Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I don't think there will be much difference in various brands of T-cut. Looking at the colour of it my guess would be that the compound is cerium oxide in a carrier. Quote
