Hello,

Just joined. Have been long-time member of FCF (username MikeT) but thought I'd broaden my horizons now I've up(?)graded from Xantia's to C5 (DV6-powered restyled Estate).

Welcome to the forum.

Many members of this forum have a C5 so you are in good company. On the C5 Technical section there is a pinned topic of Common Problems that is worth looking at. The 1.6 hdi engine needs frequent oil/filter changes using the correct oil to help avoid early turbo failure. There is a Haynes manual covering the C5 up to the 2008 models that is worth getting.

Thanks for the welcome, Paul and John.

Yes the DV6 does require extra special consideration, it seems. Whether I'm up to the task is a different matter but the mind is willing so that's a start.

I did register after finding the common problems thread (through a google search) and other threads here, trying to get a better understanding of my car.

First job I did was oil and filters change plus re-tightening the injectors and other jobs are in the pipeline too. And par for the course, as I learn more I notice other jobs need doing as well. So expect to hear more from me (usually pleading for help, but willing to share my own experiences if it'll help others too).

I also have the Lexia (and an old original Diag2000 workstation) but with a xantia TD there's not much scope for learning how to use it effectively. This C5 is a different matter altogether and my learning curve has just taken a sharp incline so expect questions on that topic also.
