Welcome to the forum.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us something about your car.

Most people would not buy this and instead would get a low cost code reader or a Lexia for less than half this cost.

If your post is meant as a spam link then it will be deleted.

Thanks for the replies... sorry for not introducing myself...

Just got myself a Berlingo Multispace plus 2012 model (accident damaged for repair) to replace my old taxi. Before I started repair - engine started fine, however, after several disconections of battery the engine will not crank anymore, and shows message breaking system faulty before going into economy mode. An auto elec looked at it for about an hour, then a friend connected lexia diagbox to it but both without success. the bsi & ecu will not communicate.
I am looking to buy suitable HW/SW to connect myselfe. I need the SW/HW to correct mileage also... and I don't believe I can do this with the Lexia
Any further help would be very much appreciated...
Thanks

ps: I can remove the link if you want... didnt mean to cause any problems

It's a Citroen 'thing' for recent models to go into economy mode as soon as the battery voltage falls below a certain level. My C5 with its five year old battery goes to economy mode after about 15 minutes. Also if the battery isn't well charged all sorts of faults can be displayed. A power steering fault is a favourite. I would try your car after giving the battery an all night charge.

Hey thanks for reply...

I've already had the battery on charge over night... my friend with Lexia diagbox could read the voltage also and it was ok...

Really I need advice on what bit of kit would be the best and where to get it... something that would allow me to not only read and reset the ecu, but also to copy and write to the ecu...

Any help would be great...

Thanks again

As you are a recent newcomer to Citroen/Peugeot vehicles did you know that there is a correct procedure for disconnected and reconnecting the battery. It's all to do with not upsetting the BSI. This is the method:-

Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.

Ensure all doors are closed and remove the key from the ignition.

Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery.

Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).

Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.

Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

Remove key open & close door test central locking system.

Start the engine and complete the system's check.

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.

Which engine does the car have, petrol/diesel/bhp and is it an auto or manual gearbox ?

Why do you need to correct the mileage, has the ecu or speedo been changed for one with a higher mileage ?

Are you going to be making changes to the car that require the ecu software to be modified, thinking here of dpf removal/egr blanking and anything else ?

When following the battery disconnection/reconnection procedure I would make sure the gear lever is in neutral, just in case the ignition key is turned a bit far when reaching through the window.

A few times on this forum people have mentioned using an auto electrician and finding the diagnostic equipment will not communicate and in one case even going to the bother of replacing the ecu/locks/etc with used ones without success. They usually have been recommended to try a Citroen dealer but have been reluctant to do this, probably thinking they can get the work done at lower cost.

My first reply about spam posts was because we've had many spammers that start off very similar to your first post and they are just trying to use the site for free advertising and all sorts of other rubbish. Some have been banned straight away but since I was not sure in your case I thought asking about your car would let us know if you are genuine.
