I am looking to replace the offside driveshaft and possibly the nearside one as well on my C5 tourer 2008. Unfortunately I cant find out much about the ease or otherwise of this job on the web. I have a Haynes manual for the previous C5 model but I am wondering how similar the transmission etc is. I don't like doing jobs like this with out a workshop manual but Haynes seem to be a little slow bringing one out.

its basicly the same on all the models.

Drain gearbox oil.

rmove the 2 bolts that secure osf middle shaft

remove ball joint nut and split from bottom wishbone.

prize inner cv joints away from gearbox,

lift hub assembly away from car and pull drive shaft out

I would have done that same job myself as I had gaiter clamp bands come off both sides and replaced at about 4-5 years old but the damage had been done, fortunately I have

a £25 a month extended warranty and these were replace by the dealer.

And in answer to you doesn't sound too bad, it sounds really really good when you look at the main dealer cost of over £900 !
