Gregs Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hi all. I have a 08 c crosser and recently a hissing noise has started from behind the brake pedal. When I put my foot on the pedal it stops. Anyone ever have this problem or point me in the right direction for what I need. Thank you. Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 It sounds as though you have a leak in the brake booster. The leak may be internal or in the vacuum hose. Check the hoses in the engine compartment first. With the engine ticking over, you are looking for air being sucked in. Quote
paul.h Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 If the air leak is in the brake booster (brake servo) you may notice it does not retain a vacuum whilst the engine is off so the brake pedal will be hard to push down soon after the engine is stopped, whereas normally the pedal can be used a few times before all the vacuum is used and the pedal goes hard. Gregs Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Has anyone ever taken a brake booster out of a crosser. I cant get it out passed the engine. Quote

Johndouglas Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Can't you loosen off the top engine mount, support the engine on a jack then pull the block forward. Quote
