hello,

Some details about vehicle:
Citroen C -5 2011 1.6 Turbo engine 85,000 km

I had to Clean the intake manifold several times since I bought the vehicle (I bought it new 4 years ago) - Each time the engine malfunction light was lit - it was fixed by the dealer while under  Manufacturer Warranty.

Recently I experienced many failures

I had to replace the turbocharger and all it;s plumbing because they were clogged,

The engine heat and the oil display did not work properly - Display temperature rose and went down randomly - i had it replaced

the next problem was a Air-sucking sound from the engine all the time and a sluggish car - randomly - after The car was parked at the airport for a week - when I returned i noticed the car was sluggish and did not respond even when i pressed the gas all the way down  -the car picked up speed very slowly - i took it to the garage again  - The garage replaced the valve cover and air tube Connected to it.

It did stop the Air-sucking sound but the car is sluggish Randomly - Strangely some days it is perfect and in other days it is sluggish and it's taking the car for a long time to gain speed.

Strangely just by the starting sound of the car i can tell if it will be o.k or faulty - when it starts with a sharp sound and And the familiar sound of turbo whistle - I know that the vehicle will travel well

but when it starts with a Starting sound heavy and dull - i know it will be sluggish.

I would appreciate your help

Try Googling "Citroen 1.6 HDI Oil pickup issues". There's loads of information covering choice of oil and cleaning of filters. Also some good pictures showing the result of poor maintenance.

hi, after the mechanic made test drive and checked the car he says that because there is no error message on the car screen he does not think it is oil pressure problem, he thinks it might be the gas pump that does not transfer enough fuel. what do you think? thank's

no he did not. i have never changed fuel filter (he says that the fuel filter does not get clogged)

He says there might be a problem that the fuel filter is not clogged

On a modern engine which relies on so many sensors for peak performance, it's like groping in the dark trying to trace a fault without diagnostics.   As for the fuel filter, it's part of the servicing schedule.   It should be replaced every 20000 miles.

Thank's, you have been very helpful. the diagnostic meter says: "system too rich off idle bank 1" - the mechanic says that i most likley have a bad seal in my fuel pump and we will replace it

A google search came up with a few things to look at http://engine-codes.com/p2178.html

before replacing the fuel pump which is likely to be expensive. Use live data on your code reader to check the lambda sensors - the inlet one should switch frequently about 1.0 and the outlet one should stay constant unless the catalyst is faulty and the nit would mirror the inlet one.
