Hi Guys, I have just joined the forum after buying a 2007/8 C5. 1.6 diesel. Love the car but it came with no history so I may need to be here often until I get used to it.  It does have an owners handbook which I think is the wrong one as it doesnt have a lot of the things that the book says it does. I am a bit disappointed that it doesnt seem to have reverse sensors even though the book says it has them.

The suspension is taking some getting used to, It seems to want to change its height if I go onto a gravel surface or catch the tyre against a curve. The garage I bought it from say they have fitted a new clutch and flywheel. We are going to get the timing belt changed when we get back from holiday in a couple weeks. Looking forward to some nice long drives in it. Its really comfortable.

Regards

please please keep up to date with the engine services or youl do the turbo in. the 1.6 hdi is noted for it. so id be changing the oil and filter a.s.a.p and put a flush throught the engine then use a good fully synthetic low saps oil.  and welcome to the forum

The handbooks include everything possible that may be fitted to the full model range so things that are included on an exclusive model will be in it but are not on the other cars unless were fitted as an option.

How many miles has the car done ? The timing belt frequency for the 1.6 hdi is usually 10 years or 150k miles if sooner. The exhaust particle filter for the 1.6 hdi is 75k miles for the eolys fluid top up and 87500 miles for the dpf filter replacement.
