THPX7 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Hello guys, Nice to see such a nice forum. I am here for sharing expirences and information about the C5. Previously I owned C4 1,6 HDi VTR, and from last january I own a white C5 156THP Tendance. It has been a pleasure driving it, but not really since last month. I am having problems with THP engine, misfiring and engine repair error, as in many cases. We are trying the usual easy fixes such as sparks, coils, fuel aditives, but it seems that everything leads to dirty inlet valves. I will try to browse this forums for similar experiences, if you have a link to a such thread I would be thankful for it. Also, I own a Peugeot 106 Rallye S2 as a runaraound.. Best regards.. Quote

coastline taxis Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Hello and welcome to the forum. before you go any further with your car can you post the fault codes on the site. If the garage you are using does a diagnostic on the car tell them to go to live data and see if the cam/crank syncranisation is swithing from yes to no constantley. weve done a few petrols were the crankshaft sensor goes tits up and sends the signal to the wrong injector to fire and gives the engine a misfire Quote
THPX7 Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Hello and thanks for advice. Codes are: P1338, P1340 and P1336 wich means misfire in cylinders number 2 and number 4, and third code is telling that there is a fault on more than one cylinder. So I was told. I dont have any more patience to go to the authorised service, so the car is going tomorrow at the shop which I know for long time and I believe that they will see for certain what is the problem. I will tel them to check the crank sensor. Thnks for advice. I will post the results here for future notice. Quote
paul.h Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 On here P1340 is listed as P1340 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction So this might be a faulty exhaust camshaft sensor or its wiring. We had this on our C3, it still ran in limp mode with the engine management light on. This is from the C3 Common Problems topic:25. Camshaft position sensor failure - 2010 C3, 1.4 VTI petrol. This happened on our C3, 15k miles. The engine management light came on, anti pollution message, went in to limp mode so the performance was poor. Fault codes were read as P0341, 0342, 0343 camshaft position sensor A bank 1 or single sensor range, low, high. Both the inlet and exhaust sensors were replaced as I thought if one has failed the other may not be too far behind. On checking, the inlet one gave a resistance measurement between all of the 3 pins and the new and exhaust only did on 2 pins. £47 for 2 sensors, they come with new O-ring seals. Quote
THPX7 Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 I will have to try replacing that sensor also, for now we didn't make any progress...the misfiring is still here...and what is really anoying when I take it to repair shop it works perfectly...when I get it back it starts to misbehave...  Quote
