arak81 Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Does anyone know how to adjust headlight beam focus under the bonnet? my headlight's beam falls on the 30feet front car's number plate and a bit up while I am alone in the car rather than falling on the road..is it normal or need adjusting. Johndouglas Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Haven't you got a manual adjuster on the left handside of the steering column. It might be a knurled roller with a white marker on it? Quote
arak81 Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 I have it..but it should be adjusted according to the load in the car..otherwise in '0' setting without any load in the car should be focused correctly and that's what I am talking about..its not focusing correctly. Quote
Johndouglas Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 There are adjustment screws on each headlamp unit but they are only for use if the direction of the two beams don't match. If your headlights align correctly just turn the manual adjustment wheel to a position you're happy with. My own car when empty needs the adjustment wheel turned away from the -0- setting because I have heavy duty rear springs on the vehicle which raises the rear end and so lowers the headlight beam. paul.h Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 The Haynes manual shows 2 adjusters on the headlights. One on the top and one on the back. Often these need an allen key to turn them. It does not say which does the vertical or sideways adjustments. Quote
