Gary180259 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Hi Guys & Galls, A quick question... I have a C5 with the Navidrive system which is generally excellent but I have one query. Why on Earth will it not let you enter a full UK post code? Unless you have the street name you are snookered. Maybe I'm missing something? My car is a 2007 2.0 HDi Exclusive Auto if that helps. Thanks Gary Quote
paul.h Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Seems as if all Citroen sat navs do not use post codes and some people prefer to use a Garmin despite having a Citroen sat nav. Quote
Randombloke Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 The software is written for Europe where all post codes are five digits. Maps on the Navidrive leave a lot to be desired. Worth checking the madness against a smartphone with something like Google Maps. Quote
seefive Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 You can use an internet site to translate post codes to coordinates and input those, as a work around. A modern portable is way better all round though. Quote
Gary180259 Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Thanks guys, I thought that would be the case though! A friend of mine has a 2006 Vauxhall Signum and he has the same problem. Cheers, Gary Quote
paul.h Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Despite the limitations of the Navidrive I still use it on our 2007 C5. Sometimes I will put in a town/village but without a street name to help you get there but also it will show traffic delays. Quote
Gary180259 Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Absolutely, it's great for traffic reports, although occasionally a little inaccurate. But then nothing is perfect. As you say, the town/village option gets you there. I love this car (my third C5) I have had LX & SX models previously. As soon as I can afford it I will get a later model (new shape). I know they are still being made but i'm sure it won't be long before they drop it from the range and then second hand prices will drop too!! Gary Quote
Parkesie Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 As mentioned above you can get gps coordiates for postcodes. I use this site http://www.map-gps-coordinates.com Quote
