Hi everyone, my name is Ian and I am a new C5 owner,

As stated I am the brand new owner of a `52 plate C5 2.0 HDI SX Estate that I picked for a bargain price, MOT just expired but running great. My other car is a MGF which, although a fantastic soft-top piece of fun, isn`t really suited to the needs of family life. On first inspection (in the dark - yes yes I know, never buy a car in the dark or in the rain) Front wing needs to be changed/repaired, and interior drivers door handle is broken off...... oh and no stereo (1st job lol). Picked up a brand new, primed wing within 10 minutes for £15 so thats good. Looking forward to perusing the forum and I maybe racking your brains for any issues I come across (if not already answered, obviously)

I am looking forward to getting this car back up to scratch and enjoying family days out again.

Welcome to the forum.

I think door handles breaking may be a common thing and there are posts on it on here. I believe the front and back ones are the same

The Haynes C5 manual is worth getting and on the C5 Technical section there is a pinned topic of common problems to look at.

Thank you everybody. Gonna give it a good look over tommoz, checked online on past mot/advisories. . . .advisories were only consumables light/tyres/brake pads for as far as I could check, so I`ve got a real good feeling on this. Off to the Bay of E`s for the door handle, good to know I can front and rear (with a bit of fettling) hopefully get another bargain like the front wing. Been having a browse through the forum and know I`m gonna stay and enjoy myself, a lot of knowledge out there. Cheers again, back to browsing until Missus moans
