Mat07 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Hello all, I need to know the name of a car part please. A few months ago, manoeuvring in a car park, I didn't notice a curb on the passenger side and it scraped my car just below the column between the front and back doors, and it loosened a kind of sound barrier? sheet, looks like made of some kind of re-enforced "cardboard" (not really, of course, but it does look like it), made of some fibrous material. Anyway, it can't be repaired, or stuck back up, and as it was hanging it had to come down, and cabin noise did increase. I was now trying to search for this part online, first trying to find out its proper name, but I can't make Google understand what I mean, Does anybody know what is the name of this part please? Thanks, Mat07 Quote
paul.h Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 If this is for the 2005 hatchback mentioned in your previous topic it might be called an air deflector and Citroen part no. 7013T3 This part is the same as on the mark 1 C5 and also the estate. There do not seem to be any on ebay. On the parts diagrams it can be found under Bodywork / Front section / Underbody protection / Underbody protection. If you do not yet have access to the parts diagrams register on service.citroen as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club. Then use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp This is a free service. Quote
Johndouglas Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I wonder if MAT07 is referring to the plastic cover over the cills and beneath the doors. If so, they are easily ripped off. I did it myself when I had my Mk2 C5. As I was reversing off some waste ground, I caught it on a piece of rock which had been dumped there and the plastic covers were almost completely ripped off but undamaged. Since I was abroad I didn't have easy access to a dealer but I managed to secure them with cable ties and plastic plugs. If you are indeed referring to the cills and yours are broken the new part numbers are:- The left hand front section is 7009G7. The left hand rear section is 7009G8. They are held along the bottom by plastic rivets Part number 6555LE and along the top and under the doors by clips 7578G7 Quote
Mat07 Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 Thank you very much paul.h and Johndouglas for your very thorough replies! And apologies for forgetting to mention my car year model. Yes, it is indeed that 2005 i had mentioned before. I'll try to find this part next. Thanks again, Mat07 Quote
Mat07 Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 Hello again, Just an update. I've just phoned my local Citroen dealer: This part is not stocked in the UK, has to be ordered from France, advanced payment, £102, plus fitting... I'll think about it. A bit expensive... Quote
paul.h Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 That seems a bit expensive. If it is the 7013T3 part you need, this old ebay listing had a new one for £35.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7013T3-Genuine-New-Citroen-C5-I-II-Left-Hand-Undertray-/301390843731?nma=true&si=hI8DlzZmxCxHJelwGgJaTs96bCw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 You could try a message to coastline taxis to see if he has a used one since he sometimes has parts available. You could also try a C5 being advertised on ebay as being broken for parts such as this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C5-PAINT-CODE-EYCC-2-2HDI-DIESEL-BREAKING-FOR-PARTS-SPARES-WHEEL-BOLT-/222007506286?hash=item33b0adb56e:g:6akAAOSwwbdWG7Dy Putting your car details in your signature is a good idea and I have just started to do it myself for the cars in my family.
