aidy999 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I have 2010 c5 crt+ nav. I have bought led lights to change the DLR bulbs, I cannot seem to get to the DLR bulb. Does the whole light unit have to be removed to do this? thanks Quote
paul.h Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Welcome to the forum. Have a look at this topic copied from the C5 technical section Common problems post: 29. 2008 on C5 daylight running light bulb replacement and LED bulbs. The normal HP 24w white bulb is expensive, about £38 and the front bumper needs removing to replace one. However, using a torch and mirror plus a small ratchet and torx bit to fit the bulb holder underneath the light unit with a towel under the light so the parts are caught and not dropped into the bumper area, it has been reported the bulb can be replaced from inside the engine bay and the bumper not removed. One member has replaced his with G4 LED bulbs - see this topic by sillyme and dflflack http://www.citroen-o...ion/#entry76329 Quote
gravyrobson Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Hello I just replaced mine today,I used a stubby torx screwdriver and a pair of long nosed pliers, you will find it located under the headlight on the car have a feel around underneath where the bulb should be,you should find it,give it a turn anti clockwise and use the pliers to jiggle it out,the bulbs I bought from boyes(2.50 each)I replaced with g4 LEDs with no errors coming up on the dash, quite happy with the result, hope this helps Quote
MikeLane Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 In view of the "insurance" comment in the "Tyre Change" post, should one inform the insurers of this mod? Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Not a bad idea - unless your company is one of those who look for every excuse to raise a premium!! Quote
MikeLane Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 From "Tyre change" Post:"It may have been last year in a BBC report of an insurance claim where they refused to pay out since the owner had put a sticker on the side of the car and not told them."Better to have a raised premium than the insurance Co. refusing to pay out as the vehicle has been "modified" without informing them.
