Johndouglas Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 can't figure out how to upload here. Here's how:- Know where you have your picture before you begin. Probably your picture library. Click within the box at "Reply to this topic" Go to bottom right and click "More reply options." When the new box appears type in your reply then in the "Attach Files" section, click on "Browse" Find the file where you have your picture. Click on it and find the picture file. Open it then click on "Attach this file." Note the limit on size. If it's too big it won't upload but you can resize it first. Quote
arak81 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Thanks paul.h. please find the attached picture and look at the black part what i already marked. are those parts somewhere here as some post said I have to look at the left side of the engine as i open the bonnet. Thank you. Quote
paul.h Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I think the pressure sensor is the part that is at the top left of the picture in the red area. The solenoid is not in the picture, to find this look at the turbo and on it will be an actuator with a small diameter plastic pipe, follow the pipe to the solenoid. Quote
arak81 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I am very frustrated...looked one good hour to find Turbo Solenoid Valve and couldn't find it...I will be really happy if anyine can lead me to it. Quote
arak81 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Here is the image of the place that I looked for Turbo vacuum solenoid valve.. I don't think my car has it unless it is behind or underneath the engine where it can not be seen from outside. Quote
paul.h Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 In the turbo picture at the bottom and a bit to the left you can see the turbo actuator and from this there is a small diameter pipe which if you follow it a bit to the right will go the the solenoid valve. Quote
Adsc4 Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 Quick update....still going strong nearing 142k miles, computer still showing 61.3mpg. New magic tree hanging from the indicator stalk and a fresh bumper scratch after the missus took it out last week. Depollution light still on but not affecting the car whatsoever (and hasn't since being in permenatly for at least 6k miles now) ...checked another popular Citroen forum and apparently my chassis/engine number doesn't have dpf?! Sept 2005 registered. MOT due end of August so going to a mates for a pre MOT check in the next couple of weeks. Think she'll be fine, can only see at the mo having to fix a small knocking over light bumps at low speed from front nearside area? Ideas what this is? All in all, still very comfy, cheap and quick! Again, I can't recommend a remap enough!! Quote
paul.h Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 The slight knocking could be an anti roll bar drop link that needs replacing, should be easy enough to do and not cost much but will be checked as part of the MOT. On the trip computer, if it is not changing this could be it needs resetting by holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk since once it reaches about 6200 miles it does not go any higher - this equates to 9999 km and to go higher would need another digit. Quote
Adsc4 Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 Thanks. Know about the stalk button, keeping it running to show that the car is frugal and can average a very good mpg under all conditions over a good length of time. Reckon it reads about 3 mpg too much from experience of full ups from same garage and pump, 58mpg not bad considering its age, mileage and driver 😀. Quote
Adsc4 Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Quick update....had MOT 2 weeks ago, 143500 miles and the old girl flew through with just one minor advisory! Dead chuffed. Still going strong and returning 58-60 mpg ish according to computer. Quote
paul.h Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Good to see your car is still going strong, what was the advisory ? Arak81 seems to have sorted the P0238 fault, after trying new solenoid valves which did not help, it seems there was a wiring fault that has been fixed by a garage. Quote
Adsc4 Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 The one advisory was slight corrosion on a rear spring. The old girl still going strong covering 800 miles return last week to the lake district and back. She didn't miss a beat! Quote
Adsc4 Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 Update: she's still going strong, albeit a new fuel filter which my mate fitted. Engine management light now off as well! Just past 150k miles and still smooth whilst pulling like a train. Need new steering arms which are knocking slightly. Quote
paul.h Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I would check the anti roll bar drop links for wear since these can knock. Quote
Adsc4 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Update....151k miles and had the very hard decision to either scrap or get the clutch and DMF done as the clutch had been slipping in recent weeks. After thinking long and hard, considering she is very reliable and only need to see her through the next 12mnts or so, I decided on the repair. £280 for the clutch, DMF and gearbox oil and found a local garage (who quoted 4.5hrs work)at only £40 per hour plus VAT. So, just over £550 for the whole repair including driveshaft seals and consumables from the garage (Citroen wanted £30 for the driveshaft seals, garage was £15). Wow, a different car!! That clutch must have been slightly slipping for a good while as it's a different car now!! Quote
