Johndouglas Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hello & welcome to the forum. Let's hope your fault code doesn't return. If it does - it's related to the glowplug control system. spookydave Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 many thanks for that Johnalso would you know why when i put the car in reverse the blowers increase there flow and then when back in neutral go back to normalits very strange Quote
ClaudetteC3 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hi and welcome :) Hope your car settles down and nothing serious. Quote
paul.h Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The blower speed change I vaguely remember was on here a few years ago but I can not remember what it turned out to be. You could try a search to find it. Quote
spookydave Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 many thanks gentlemen apart from these niggles i find the c5 a very plescent place to bethe 2.0 hdi engine is superb and the car itself i think is what i describe as beautifully ugly Quote
paul.h Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Is your car a 2004 to 2008 or a 2008 on model C5 ? Quote
spookydave Posted April 24, 2016 Author Posted April 24, 2016 its a 2008 model the newest shape Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 its a 2008 model the newest shape So that puts it amongst the first of the C5-X7s (commonly called the Mk3) Quote
spookydave Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 yes indeed Johnbeen on a motorway journey to try to sort the dpf filter did not light up at allbut the esr/abs fault is still there its going in tomorrow for the new window regulator under warrantyalso the dealer has said it will get a full diagnostics checki pointed out that this problem started under warranty so even if it keeps up after warranty has expired its still his problem think i may be off his xmas card list but as far as i am concerned if the car has faults after a few days then it was not of saleable qualityand not fit for purpose Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Also check the power steering rack for any signs of leakage. Several forum members with early X7's have reported leaks. Quote
paul.h Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Have a look at the service interval for the dpf in the Warranty and Maintenance guide but at 8 years old it could be at the mileage for the dpf to be replaced or at least removed and cleaned. Quote
spookydave Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 its done 70000 miles cant find any record of the dpf being donegarage has rang to tell me the diagnostics have come back with a faulty brake light switch this has now been replaced so fingers crossed all will be well Quote
spookydave Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 also when i bought it had garage check power steering rack no leaks and i told them to grease input shaft to try to prevent any rust but thanks for your concerns gentlemen its very much appreciated Quote
spookydave Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 according to the diagnostics the dpf re generated 170 miles ago very low soot content and eolys oil level nearly full so must have been donehappy days I hope Quote
