smiler Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Had warning light and message come up. As I have since replaced for new ones, periodically I still get the warning light and message appear. This would suggest an underlying problem other than just replacing the front pads. Questions1. Does the system need dealership reset2. Is there a pedal switch, that could be faulty3. ? Any assistance, thank you Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Check for chafing in the wiring. You may have a bare wire occasionally earthing. Quote
smiler Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Thank you, will do. Just seems co-incidental that happened with old and new brakes. Quote
paul.h Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 You could also check if the rear brakes have a low warning in case these have worn down. Quote
smiler Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Both Front and Rear have been change. So new pads all round the only pads with sensors on are the front. If the rear have a sensor, will inspect next opportunity. Does the computer need to be reset as the warning has been lodged? Quote
paul.h Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 This will just be a warning message rather than a fault code stored by the ecu so it will not need resetting. On the fronts you could try disconnecting the sensor wires and seeing if the message stops, then you know which way in the wiring to check. Quote
smiler Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Not a bad idea, will also give that a go. Thank you Quote
