stereotypical Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 hi i finally got my lexia diagbox bought it off ebay. but the stupid thing keeps asking me for the RPO number but it does nothing after i key it in. I have two options after i key it in, Lexia and Scan tool, when i click either of it nothing happens. Just stays there. i know the sticker by the door has the RPO number i tried several different cobinations of each number there but nothing happens. Any help would be great.... .....this is the sticker below could someone tell me which is the correct number? thanks Quote
paul.h Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 The RPO should be 19737, I think the U9 is not needed. KLMC is the paint code. Quote
Simple Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) Your RPO is actually 9737 => 7 July 2003 (manufacturing date) You did not mention which platform (hardware and operating system) or which version of DiagBox/Lexia you are trying to run. Please review this link (Diagbox 7.xx From Preparation To Operation), It may be of help..http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23435-diagbox-7xx-from-preparation-to-operation/ and this one (Anybody Found A Diagnostic Scanner That Works On Citroen C8 2.2 Hdi):http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23088-anybody-found-a-diagnostic-scanner-that-works-on-citroen-c8-22-hdi/ In case of no joy, please provide detailed information so that we may be able to help. stereotypical Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 im using a 7.65 version. Im using a windows 7, 64 bit laptop. Not sure about the hardware on my laptop though is that important? Tried inputting 9737 as well, but nothing happens still.....sigh........ thanks for the links i'll try your step by step guide again later today. Quote
Simple Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Your problem is very simple, Lexia does NOT run on 64 bit Windows. The solution is in the Prerequisites, point 1 of "Diagbox 7.xx From Preparation To Operation". You either format your computer and install a new 32 bit Windows or leave 64 bit Windows (like me) and install a Virtual Machine then install 32 bit Windows 7 or XP. Notice, VMware player has better compatibility than VirtualBox (but slower during installation, you will not notice any difference during running). Edited August 22, 2016 by Simple Quote
stereotypical Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 aye curumbaaa.......would it work on a windows vista? I've got an old laptop on a 32bit windows vista, i'd rather just save the time than to go through reformatting or installing virtual box to be honest. If it could run on the vista then i'll that one out first. Quote
stereotypical Posted August 28, 2016 Author Posted August 28, 2016 ok i manage to reformat my old laptop and got diagbox to work on the laptop now. It reads when i connect it to the obd connector. But have no clue how to use lexia, i clicked diagnostics, then test by function >> and also global test >>and then bunch of errors from different sections of the car showed up, went into each one of them but didn't really know what else to do, but i couldn't pinpoint the error p0121 issue. Any handy manual or instructions to show me how to properly diagnose the car? Quote
Simple Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Congratulations and well done...I think there is a manual on the net, some stuff is in French. Some of the errors you see are old and may be irrelevant. Clear all errors everywhere, then start the car and check which errors come back, then start your investigation. Quote
stereotypical Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 thanks for all the help everything works and lexia works. I've finally found the error. its related to the wiring!! a dodgy wire was causing the issue......... Quote
Simple Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Well done..Many of the errors these cars are not due to faulty components, but due to signals out of spec. (forcing the ECU to generate errors) caused by tarnished connector points, loose or chaffed wires, etc.. So, when you investigate errors with Lexia, ensure that they are not not caused by the above reason before changing parts. Quote
