kevstep Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Hi..... I am after some advice please, my C5 is only firing on 3 cylinders, it was running fine one day and when I started it the next day it was running like a bag of spanners, and giving an antipollution fault warning. After getting the codes from the ecu, I cannot remember the exact code it was something like 1336, but when I looked it up it said cam and crank sensors so I replaced both of those, and the spark plugs but it is still not running on 4. When I remove the plugs again it is blatantly obvious that there is no firing going on in No1 cylinder ?, the one closest to the timing belt end. My question is where do I go next, do I look at maybe replacing the coil pack or should I go down the road of changing the injector ? are there any checks I could do to narrow it down one way or the other ? is there anything else that could cause this problem that I have not thought of ?If anyone out there can give me any pointers I will be eternally gratefulMany thanks in advanceKevin Quote
paul.h Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Welcome to the forum. You could go to a dealer to have it fixed and they will use their diagnostic equipment to decide what is faulty. Or you could replace more parts hoping to find the correct one. The coil pack is the next lowest cost item before the injector. You could also try swapping the injector to another cylinder and see if the fault changes cylinders. Also have a good look at the wiring and electrical connectors for any faults. Quote
coastline taxis Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 follow pauls advice or get someone else as misfires are hard to detect. could be anything from a knackered piston/valve to a loose wire Quote
