DieselDrinker Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Hello. I'm a secret Citroen lover living in Dartford, Kent. I've recently purchased a 2009 C5 2.0HDi 138hp VTR+ Tourer with 60k on the clock. (Hope to get some photos up soon). I wasn't planning on getting a Citroen, I was on my way to get a Saab 9-3 estate but this caught my eye and the price tag being £3k cheaper helped. (I won't tell the wife she still thinks that I paid the same price as the Saab). I've been active on many forums, the last one being a Volvo forum. Hopefully I can share some of my knowledge with diesel engines and modest tuning. I've got the usual problems with a second hand motor, including the split rear washer pipe (now fixed), many many scratches, light scuffs and surface bubble rust on one of the rear arches. oh and the electric windows not working properly. (Cables ordered and tools out ready to replace). I love tinkering and tuning diesel cars, I've never heard of anyone tuning a diesel Citroen before, if someone has please point me in the right direction. Quote
paul.h Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Welcome to the forum. I've had a few Saabs and liked them except I had to spend a lot of time repairing them, unlike the Citroens since. On the C5 technical section is a pinned topic of Common Problems on the C5, most are for the earlier models but one additional to yours is a leaking steering rack, so have a look at it. I am surprised there is rust on the car since I thought Citroens were galvanised. Quote
