lrochfort Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Hello all, I have a Xsara Picasso that has some central locking gremlins. I understand they're common, but haven't found a situation quite like mine online. You can lock all the doors just fine via either door lock, or via the button on the dash. However, the doors don't unlock via central locking. The door the key is put in will unlock, but nothing else happens. The button on the dash doesn't unlock the doors either. The buttons on my keyfob have fallen off, so I can't try those! Any advice much appreciated. Cheers,Laurence. Quote
paul.h Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 You can get another key fob case through ebay and put the insides and key blade from your existing one inside the new one. I do not know what the cause of the problem is but you could check the wiring between the driver's door and body for any damage but since the locks work one way and the wiring used is the same as to lock the doors then it is possibly not the fault. The bsi controls the locks so you could try a bsi reset by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it - there is a procedure here http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/15093-bsi-reset/ You could also try 2 turns of the key in the lock in case it is dead locking which will stop the dash button unlocking the doors. Failing anything it may need a trip to a dealer for a diagnostic. On our first C3 (2003) the first use of the key or fob would dead lock it and a second use would still leave it locked but not dead locked. Our other cars need 2 pushes of the fob button/use of th ekey to dead lock. Quote

That thread talks about the C5. Does the same procedure apply for the Xsaras? Quote
paul.h Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I think it is just a general one for Citroen's. You could also try an internet search for other versions that do the same thing. Quote
coastline taxis Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 you don't say what year the car is or I just cant see it. you 1st thing is to plug the car in and go to the bsi unit ( depending on age) and test the central locking and maybe reconfigure it Quote
