jimbo61 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Hi All, i bought my daughter a c3 Pluriel, 06 1.3 petrol. The sump appears to be porous and is dripping oil. So my question is how much work is it to replace? Thanks in advance Quote
coastline taxis Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 very very easy job to replace . once you see the new one you will see how it is held in and what bolts need to come out. depending on your skill level you mite have to remove the front exhaust pipe Quote
paul.h Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 In the Haynes manual for the C3 and the 1.4 petrol engine, additional to the info from coastline taxis, there may be an engine under tray that needs removing, drain the oil before starting, a wiring harness may need moving out of the way and the sump does not use a gasket but instead uses sealant between it and the block - this will need cleaning off and fresh sealant used for the new sump. As well as the new sump you will need oil, an oil filter, a drain plug (if the old one is damaged) and plug gasket/seal, sealant, possibly exhaust gaskets. The sump bolts/nuts should be tightened to 8 Nm and the drain plug 30 Nm according to Haynes. Quote
