ash601 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 i recently changed my wishbone on my xsara picasso 2.0 hdi and put a new nut and bolt in but the pin is still moving in the joint ive tightened it up to the max but still it moves any suggestions. Quote
paul.h Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 In the pin there may be a cut out which should line up with the bolt. It might be the ball joint pin has not been pushed in far enough. This is your other topic on the same problem, http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/24402-xsara-picasso-hdi-2002/ I will lock that and put a link to this topic so that any replies are together. You should also check the diameter of the new joint pin is the same as the old one, just in case it is a copy part not from a Citroen dealer and has not been made to the correct specification. Quote
Rookie2 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Hi Buddy. if you are talking about ther bottom ball joint (the one on the end of the wishbone), you need to remove the bolt and nut and either tap the bottom of the ball joint upwards or put a small scissor jack under the bottom ball jojnt and raise it slightly. The tapered shaft of your ball joint has not gone far enough up into the wheel hub, your bolt is sitting across the top of the tapered shaft instead of going through the "Waist"" of the tapered shaft., In short, shove the ball joint taper further up into the hub hole it goes into Quote

Rookie2 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Steering wheel shakes ? I would suspect a warped brake disc, Brake discs fior these vehicles are not expensive If brake pads are not new then consider buying discs and pads, they can be purchase as a kit but do not buy the cheapest you can find, they are generally not the best quality and, when talking about brakes, are generally not the safest. cheers Quote
coastline taxis Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 wait till u tighten your ball joint up and i think your shaking might go off. if you look at the ball joint you will see that the stud thats turning has the facility for a allen key to be inserted into it to stop it turning the just use a spanner to tighting it up Quote
