rednose66 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Hi All As I think Ive mentioned on here my 2.2 has been having problems and going into limp mode with a Depolution Error. Its got far more regular lately but having already spent 1500 on the front suspension I've tried to put off sorting it out as long as possible. I've had her in two independant specialists who have given me slightly differing advise. One thought there could be a fault with the pressure sensor on the fuel rail whilst the other garage suggested a fault with the pressure switch at the other end of the rail. I have the part number to order for the pressure switch - 0281 002 803 / 9654748880 - as it is visible. The sensor however I was told was 1570L3 and told to look on eBay. I havent been able to find a pressure sensor with this number anywhere and suspect this may be a PSA specific reference. Is there any other way that anybody can tell me what the part number is without me first removing the pressure sensor first? Also is replacement of these parts a job where you would need Lexia to get them to work? Ive used the Android app FAP and it does appear to be pointing to a problem with fuel pressure (from the error codes FAP displays) so I'm pretty keen on swapping these to parts out Many Thanks in advance Jon Quote
paul.h Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 If you look at the Citroen parts diagrams for the C5 (X7) 2.2 hdi, they show the fuel rail coming complete with the pressure sensor at one end and the high pressure fuel regulator at the other end, the sensor/regulator not being listed separately. Citroen's procedures say the pressure sensor can not be separated from the fuel rail so the complete part has to be replaced. There are no mentions of needing diagnostic checks after fitting new parts. The Citroen part number for all this is 1570L3. Since an ebay search does not come up with this part then it may be available only from a dealer. If you want to try for a used part the same one is also on the earlier C5 2.2 hdi 173 hp engine as well as the c5 (X7) 2.2 hdi engine. Have you tried replacing the fuel filter since this could cause a low fuel pressure if blocked ? Quote
rednose66 Posted March 26, 2017 Author Posted March 26, 2017 Thanks Paul. That does, to a degree, make sense although the sensor does definitely come off the fuel rail. On eBay most of the fuel rails listed have already had the sensors stripped but I will see if I can pick up a complete unit. The filter has been replaced since the issues started. Quote
Randombloke Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I've had this issue with an Accord where Honda say parts are not available separately but if they are Bosch parts they are. Went to a fuel injection specialist who sold me the fuel pressure relief valve... If it's a Bosch system then it may be worth looking to see if the parts are available separately. Also worth seeing if the problem has been solved with the sister cars, Peugeot 407/508. Who makes the fuel injection system? PSA don't.... Quote
