Nicoteen Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Hello all Been searching the sites trying to find either a new key fob or just the rubber replacement, I reckon the rubber will do the trick but cant find anyplace to get it, it's worn so much now that I have to press the tiny buttons to lock and unlock the van, Getting worried that dirt or water will enter and make things much worse, Does anyone know of an online shop where I can get a replacement without having to get another key cut, I also need a spare wheel carrier that sits under the rear of the van... I damaged mine when reversing, there was no wheel in it and it was hanging down when I was reversing... it got mangled in anticipation of your helf I thank you's Quote
paul.h Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 If you do an ebay search on Citroen dispatch key fob it comes back with lots of sellers. Just need to get one the same as yours and then you fit the insides from your fob including the key blade, into the new fob. I have done this a few times and found the ebay cases are better quality than the Citroen ones, despite only being a few pounds. If the immobiliser chip is separate to the printed circuit, make sure that is also moved in to the new case. The key blade is removed from the old case by part opening the blade and then using a pin/small screw and pliers to push out the retaining pin. Use the pliers to squeaze the pin back in again. If you do not remove the battery from the circuit when swapping it over, you will not need to re-initialise the fob but if you do this is in the handbook somewhere under fob battery replacement and will be something like put the key in the ignition and turn so the dash lights up and immediatley hold down the fob lock button until the locks work. If the locks do not work, remove the key from the ignition and see if they work but if not remove the fob battery for a bit and then try again. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313.TR3.TRC2.A0.H0.Xcitroen+dispatch+key+fob.TRS0&_nkw=citroen+dispatch+key+fob&_sacat=53908 For the spare wheel carrier, if you do not use it then why not just remove it so the problem will not happen again. Is it possible to bend the carrier back to shape - if not then a Citroen dealer will sell you a new one or you could try for a scrap yard one. This one on ebay includes the wheel so is a bit dear at £69.99 but maybe they will let you just have the carrier http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-DISPATCH-HDI-90-VAN-2007-2015-SPARE-WHEEL-CARRIER-/192321925661?hash=item2cc747b21d:g:XtEAAOSwqU5Z0M9J Another one without a wheel for £53.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-DISPATCH-SKUDO-EXPERT-SPARE-WHEEL-CARRIER-CAGE-HOLDER-D17-Y1228-/262659387575?hash=item3d27b830b7:g:e4UAAOSwNRdX9QVQ You could do though with checking the Citroen part number against your van RPO number (should be on a tyre pressure sticker and possibly the service stamp book) since there were a couple of changes - to RPO 11269 the carrier Citroen part number is 7603R9 plus it needs a support screw 7615F2- from RPO 11270 to 12403 Citroen part number 7603R9 - using a RPO calculator this gives vans from 17/9/2007 to 24/10/2010 so should apply to your van- from RPO 12404 part number 1440169980Once you have the correct part number you can then search using that number. Nicoteen Posted December 7, 2017 Author Posted December 7, 2017 Hello again Paul :) I did look on Ebay but they dont seem to be the same fob as mine... They look much the same but mine has a rubber insert over the little buttons, The one's I see on the sites seem to be like the newer fobs.. Like hard plastic covering the buttons, I don't know if these will allow me to do as you kindly said about swapping the insides over, I checked out the carriers on the link and found it said he dont post to Ireland, Suppose it would have cost as much as a new one by the time the postage was paid, My mate got me one from a scrap yard, Thank you again for your help with this, Just one more thing I would like to ask you is about a service manual. Should I start a new thread or is it okay to try find out here,Need the service manual for a 2006 dispatch 1.6, I had a look on ebay and seen a couple but I really dont know what I be getting from the seller... I heard stories of people ordering manuals for motorbikes and the manuals were just very bad copies or of little use to them. I want to service the van myself. Cheers Hi Route master Thank you for your reply. If all else fails I will try my local locksmith and see if he can sort the fob for me. I hate the thought of going back to the Stealer OOPS I mean dealer to be over taxed for the want of a bit of rubber. Cheers for the info Quote
paul.h Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Our replacement key fobs had hard plastic buttons instead of the Citroen rubber ones and have been better for it and lasted well. For a workshop manual the Citroen service box is the one to get. It comes on 3 dvds which you install on your computer and includes parts diagrams and wiring diagrams. The most recent ones are for about 2012 since then I think Citroen only use on-line ones. You can access the on-line ones but you then pay by the hour so could end up being expensive. To do this you need to register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club. The parts diagrams are free but the procedures have to be paid for. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres you might need to select your language first and then use the top right register button. I did a quick search on ebay for the service box (+ sedre) but could not find one. This C8 topic has info on down loading a copy http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23950-c8-workshop-manual/ Quote
