duden Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Just bought new wipers for my old shape C5 estate 2.0Hdi.Can anyone tell me how to stall the wipers in the upright position so I can change them? At the moment in the "furled" position the top of the bonnet stops you from lifting them far enough off the screen. Quote
iannez Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 turn ignition on then off and press the wiper stalk down once. they will go into service position. Quote
duden Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks for that! As usual a simple solution and not in the manual. Quote
paul.h Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Duden, where from and how much were the wipers ? Mine are the low profile type which I seem to remember may be about £30. Quote
duden Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 Champion wipers bought from my local autoparts dealer in Louth. They're usually quite reasonable, but I think Halfords does a twin pack which should work out cheaper. However, I prefer the Champion - so quiet! Quote
paul.h Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 After some internet searching, the later cars at the front have the Bosch aerotwin wipers, available from autobulbs direct for £32.99. One is 26 and the other 19 inch. Wonder how much from Citroen ? I've not seen them in any shops. Fortunately they can not be removed without opening the bonnet or stoping them vertically as noted above. Quote
Randombloke Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I bought wipers in Norauto at St Martin, Boulogne. Norauto list a number of blade options for the C5 including aero ones. Not cheap, but seem to be slightly less than UK prices. I'm also looking into replacing the just the blades in the original aero wipers. Quote

fastbatard Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 turn ignition off with wiper switch in hte on position. www.wiperblades.co.uk is also worth a look. I've got an 03 C5 and I just got a set of the new style flat blade wipers by Valeo for £32 delivered. A doddle to fit and are by far the best blades I've ever used. Very quiet and streak free wiping and had to use them a lot lately! Quote
