Julian
Here is my cosmetically challenged Berlingo van which I’ve owned for the last 4 or 5 years. It has been laid up in a dry garage surplus to requirements for the last 2 1/2 years, but it’s time to get it back on the road. It’s in for its MOT on Monday and I’m hopeful that it will pass, fingers crossed. I’ve given it a full valet today and it looks great. Its a rolling project and only requires cosmetics, a few scans and the usual lacquer peel on most of the panels except the tailgate. It is fitted with ice cold air-con and is a godsend in the summer. It has covered 119k in the past 19 years and has only been used for light work, initially owned by a Golf Club in York then by private owners. I’ll update the thread from time to time for anyone who may have a similar interest in these great little vans.
Julian
Just to add, I’ve not seen another Berlingo Van around with the tailgate instead of doors, only on the Combi-vans.
Julian
Sadly an MOT fail due to corrosion in O/S rear sill, inner and outer. I’d best get the welder out.
paul.h
Good to see the jacking point is there but it will need a proper repair before using it. If the other side has rusted as bad then maybe somebody has been using a trolley jack damaging the sills so they have rusted.
Julian
The van is now finished and back on the road with a new MOT. I gave it a new lease of life with a colour change in Patina Green satin, applied by roller.
