Guest Roy H Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I often find my 2004 C5 conducting its own work-out when stationary (ie the front end pumps up and down every ten seconds or so) even when the ignition is switched off! My local dealer said it is all to do with the self-levelling suspension and that I should never leave the car standing for any length of time unless the suspension is lowered all the way down. Does anyone else experience this eerie phenomenon or is my car auditioning for a C4 advert? Quote
iannez Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 sound like a faulty hight adjuster. is the fluid level ok. Quote
kfk Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Seem to remember there is a computer update available for this.....it shuts the BHI power suppply down earlier. Quote

fallingoverdrunk Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Yes....have the same problem with mine too My 3 yr old loves to watch it I have cured (???) it by leaving the suspension at its highest setting. Seems to work Quote
proinnsias Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I'll chime in with a big "me too" here :o) My 2001 C5 does it - but only if parked on a strange slope or with the wheels off-centre ... it doesn't seem to do it if I leave the wheels straight. (By "strange slope" I mean one where, say, the front nearside wheel is much higher than the rest of the wheels - we have some strangely laid out parking spaces in the office ... I've learned to avoid that one !) Quote
paul.h Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 My 2004 C5 (old model) when stationary will adjust the height after something has been done to alter it such as getting in /out, putting something in/out of the boot, hitching the caravan on the back. The adjustment happens once the door is shut and only takes a few seconds. It also adjusts when the doors are unlocked with the remote. If you had to set the height at the lowest setting when leaving it for some time I am sure it would say this in the car handbook and if it was meant to continually adjust when not in use the battery would go flat.
