Guest Visa10E Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Hi there, the split zone climate on my 02 C5 2.2 HDi Exclusive seems to be only half working - ie when both sides are set to 22 the left centre vent is blowing out hot air and the right cold air, if I whack it up to full blast it gets slightly better but still not equal. Is this merely a 'characteristic' of the system, ie its designed to be used with the air con on for example or is this a common fault? Quote
Guest Visa10E Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Any clues? Now the passenger side only blows hot air out even if I put it on 16 with air con on! Quote
paul.h Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 There are probably little motors that move the various flaps to give the air distribution/temperature so chances are one of these is not working. Quote

I seems the flaps that redirect the airflow have gear teeth on them and being made of plastic these wear out. If you have a look through this forum it's been talked about a few times before. I can't remember the solution but being a C5 it will undoubtedly be complicated and expensive. Good luck. Malcolm Quote

shallishanti? Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Pretty sure there was mention of a modification kit from one of the resident Citroen techies. Quote

Sianna The problem seems to have gone away for now, and only seems to rear its ugly head ocassionally, ive found that turning the ignition off and on again can sometimes cure it, but for now I'm just going to live with it as I'd rather spend the money on cambelt etc I would like to know what the previous guy meant with a 'modification kit' Quote

The servo motor needed to be replaced, otherwise the control for the hot/cold air will be next to non-existant after a while. Repair ran £160, covered by warranty (used car warranty is three months in Sweden where I am). Quote

theluckyman Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 In my experience the issue was not the motor itself but the fact it was spinning inside the flaps https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B9Ls81E7uVtLY3JUNjlZdndyb28&usp=sharing Quote
