northman Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Hi We discovered water in the front passenger footwell of our Berlingo. We took it back and the dealer said it was the "shower curtain" (a plastic sheet in the door, apparently) and fixed it under warranty. A while later, we noticed that there was . . . water in the front passenger footwell. We took it back to the dealer, and they said it was . . . the "shower curtain" and fixed it again. A while later, . . . yes, you've guessed. Anyone else had this problem? Quote
truemouse Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Oh yes, but I think that it had more to do with 60+mph 4-wheel drifting on twisty roads, 2 litres of soda and a nervous passenger. Quote
hertsnminds Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Not had this problem on a Berlingo but on cars where I have had the problem (soft tops) it is usually due to the drain holes in the bottom of the rubber door seal getting clogged up or being squashed so they cannot function when the door is shut. It means the water you find in the footwells is actually coming in over the door sills as it cannot drain from the bottom of the doors. The MGF owners cure for this is to cut a 1/4 inch out of the bottom of the door seal. Fiat barchetta owners just unclog the holes. As for Pluriel owners they don't notice this tiny amount of water compared to all the other issues we have with the car :( (only joking). If the water were coming in through the side of the door (the bit the shower curtain protects) you should have damp patches on the inside door panels, which i suspect you don't, as these would have to be replaced. tronboy Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 You won't get a damp door trim on a 'Lingo as they're 100% hard plastic with a token bit of rag on the top for a splash of colour! TronX Quote

DickieG Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Terry it could be entering via the heater inlet just below the N/S wiper blade. Check for leaves/debris in/around the grille and down the inlet tunnel. Quote

And it's not 'wheel-trims' it's 'wheel embellishments'! The new Citroen marketing department will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. Quote
