Hi

So just had a £170 service which has thrown up some future work. In particular two rear thrusters, a possible dual mass flywheel replacement, drivers door electric window controls and heat resistor pack.

What i want to know is where is the font of all knowledge, who can i give a Vin number to and therefore get the right part numbers?

You can sign up to Citroen Service - http://service.citroen.com/

Once logged on you have free access to part numbers via your Vin.. they also have a paid subscription service where you can download workshop manuals for specific tasks.

I used my business name (I'm sure any name would suffice) and 'Other Professional' you need a valid email of course as they email your password.

What are rear thrusters ? Not a batmobile , is it ?

....sorry, didn't notice that reply...batmobile...can u imagine a french made batmobile lol

..mmm tbh i don't really know what they are, i imagine they're to do with the rear suspension system, i should have asked really but that was my thought. The guy in Templepatrick is an independent specialist and hasn't been wrong with anything he's ever done to the car...

...if anyone else would care to enlighten or provide specifics/proper term for whats being described i'd be grateful..

it was called a citroen bx.

I bought one new in 1991 - A BX-TZDturbo Estate. A lovely car with the most comfortable seats I've ever sat on. Knocked up 110K miles in 8 years then sold it on to a guy on the old Andyspares forum. Wish they still made them. Lovely and simple - till the octupus leaked!

Did 250,000 miles in 2 BX estates between Jan 1993 and Sept 2006.

If I could have a more modern version with air con, abs, cruise control and the same set of instruments (fuel, water and oil temp plus battery) as a C5 I would have one tomorrow.

Still my favourite car, but then I never got an XM. I'd have wanted a fully loaded 2.5 TD estate.
