coastline taxis Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Firstly if you are in anyway unsure get the dealer to do it. Because if you get it wrong you could end up DEAD and thats no joke. Theres a few people been hurt when there not to sure. anyway1 raise the car of the ground so that the wheels are of the ground2 puy hydraulics onto full setting3 make sure wheels are still off the ground and slacken each sphere a quarter turn4 plug the car in and tell it to deprsurise the hydraulic system5 swap the spheres over make sure old seals come out and put new seals into the rams and not on the spheres cover each seal with lds fluid befor inserting6 replenish the lds resorvoir7 start car up and wait till it liifts ups then play with the hydraulics up and down a few times checking for any leaks8 put onto lowest setting and recheck lds fluid IF YOUR NOT SURE GET SOMEONE TO DO IT Quote

paul.h Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 There is some info in the earlier October 2009 post 'C5 suspension fluid leak by Brian W' on changing the spheres and it quotes a dealer cost of £175 to cure a leak just in front of a sphere but does not say if a sphere is to be or has been replaced since there is so far no final feedback. Guest Brian W Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 There is some info in the earlier October 2009 post 'C5 suspension fluid leak by Brian W' on changing the spheres and it quotes a dealer cost of £175 to cure a leak just in front of a sphere but does not say if a sphere is to be or has been replaced since there is so far no final feedback.HiSorry, I haven't been on the forum for a while. This may be too late to help you, but for further info to all - I took it to the local Citroen dealer and they charged me £177 (inc vat) to supply and fit a new sphere. They loaned me a car whilst mine was being repaired. They also performed checks on all kinds of other things on the car and pronounced them all fine. All in all, I am very very pleased with what they did, and I had only used them as a last resort, due to horror stories I'd heard about going to the dealer, but nobody else would touch the spheres, so I had no choice.I can't recommend the dealer enough, and I would suppose that the price would be a standard price nationwide.
