Gteuk Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 In my opinion both cases come under non performance of goods which means the vendor is at fault, works even better if you traded in as this proves you have no viable means of transport, either way if you buy a product that does not perfom as expected you are entitled to certain compensations, you are required by sales of goods act of 1982 (as amended) to give time for them to rectify the problem however in this case it should not cost you!!! under the consumer credit act the creditors are equally liable so have a chat with them. If they are inhibiting you work or causing extreme dificulty to continue you normal activities through a sale that they have contracted then surely they are in the wrong. I have left it pretty broad but look into it and I am sure you will get a good response if you investigate Quote
Guest bluenosemichael Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Thanks for the reply folks.Have been incontact with the new managing director of citroen uk.Have emailed all details of all corespondence with garage and citroen customer service.Hoping for a reply at start of week. The part number has changed 3 times in a month apparently.Because i was just a couple of months out of warranty they had agreed to pay half the costs but now hoping they pay all plus extra as ive had to hire a car Quote
Guest bluenosemichael Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Just had an interesting chat wiyh Citroen customer service who have told me that they think the company that makes the part is in liquidation and it could take months to source the part. Dont know what or who to believe as i have been told so many lies. This is a nightmare. Only thing i know for sure is that i will never own another Citroen Quote
paul.h Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 You could try and source a second hand part as a temporary measure to get the car back on the road. Quote
Guest bluenosemichael Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Thanks Paul but have tried to get one without any luck cant find a C4 in a breakers anywhere. Have asked Citroen if they could take the part of a new car and send it to me and then replace it on their car when they source it. They said they didnt think it was possible but would look into it. Guest bluenosemichael Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Hi folksFinally getting my car back tomorrow after 9 weeks. Was getting nowhere with Citroen untill i told them i was going to the national press.Suddenly they had the part. On a sour note they are going to charge me £200 for the use of the courtesy car since they gave me a goodwill gasture of half the costs at the start which now means im no better off.I have lost all faith of the after sales service of Citroen and im going to change to another manufacturer. I will never own another Citroen. On a good note though my local Citroen garage(Hallidaysof Bushmills) were most helpful and did their best to help none of the problems were their fault. If they could supply me with a different make i would not hesitate to use them. Thanks guys and i hope you have no problems with your cars and safe driving. Quote
